The Hohman Appraisal Company leads the pack when it comes to technology
We're just going to come right out and admit something: We are technology junkies. We use the latest technology around to complete your appraisal without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
If you asked any number of appraisers, most would agree that appraising is more complicated than it used to be. We put quality first, but we know that turnaround time is critical since nobody likes to wait for results. Therefore, we've simply optimized our routine processes to do more in less time. The appraisers that have always adapted to new technology have been the ones able to bring their customers more accurate reports, better customer service and faster turnaround times.
Way back when, a great deal of orders arrived via fax and were confirmed with phone calls once we got back to the office. It might be hours before a client even knew if we could do the order. Things are quite a bit different now and when an order is placed on the site, we get an e-mail on our phones. We can even log into this site from the field and send back an e-mail confirmation – including the time and date for the inspection if we've been able to talk to the occupant.
Innovating the Ordering Experience
When you order from The Hohman Appraisal Company you can expect us to be concerned about your deadlines. We aim to reduce waiting between communications since the speed at which we get things done directly effects your bottom-line. This website has proven to reduce cycle time for us and our clients by enhancing our communications.
Using Technology in the Field
Gathering the data for an appraisal is a demanding process. We spend quite a bit of time collecting the facts on the subject property and the local market data and trends. Once again, technology has stepped in to help The Hohman Appraisal Company.
Instead of using paper forms and pencils and then re-keying all the information back at the office, don't be surprised to see us with a tablet PC or collecting data using an app created for our phones that even lets us sketch a floorplan right on site. Rather than using that clumsy old tape measure, more and more appraisers are beginning to use laser measuring devices that are quicker, more accurate, and can get into places that normal tape measures have always had problems with.
We combine all of these different technologies to ensure that your final report is complete and conclusive. This works to both our advantages by requiring less time for call-backs and revisions. A real money saver for busy appraisal clients.
Here at The Hohman Appraisal Company we make sure you have ample ways to receive your report.
The majority of our appraisals are delivered through e-mail as PDF documents. Most of our clients prefer e-mail because we're all accustomed to getting attachments like PDFs in our mail. It's much more efficient than the old days before e-mail. But, we've even been able to innovate report delivery with this website.
Ever lost a file that was sent to you? Or have you ever had problems sending or receiving an e-mail because it was too big? We have the technology to overcome those problems, too. Whenever we send an appraisal, the client gets a link sent to their email to retrieve the PDF. So, at that point, it doesn't matter if all the extra photos and maps in the report result in a large file that would normally be blocked by e-mail. And the download link is good for 90 days. So if you lose the file, you can log back in here and retrieve it again without even calling us or waiting for us to get to a computer so we can send it again.
Lastly, we use all digital workfiles...
It would be great if appraisers could complete a report, give it to the client and never be concerned with seeing that document again. But one of the purposes of an appraisal is as a legal document outlining the condition of a property on a specific date. Therefore, appraisers are required by law to keep their reports for 5 years in case any disputes or other matters arise regarding the property.
Here again, The Hohman Appraisal Company uses all the technology at our disposal technology to improve service. We store every part of the appraisal - notes, sketches, supporting documentation and calculations - along with the appraisal electronically, we can pull up the entire file whenever it's needed and recall exactly what that report was about.
We just wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we use our technology daily. Using the right tools, along with the appraisal know-how that you've grown to expect allows the appraiser to save time without cutting corners and deliver a better product to you, our client.
